Our Review:
MennoMedia has done an excellent job of presenting a 5 day VBS program that teaches children how we can "Give and Receive God's Great Love" by showing (and accepting) hospitality. I like their title "Welcome!" because to me that one words sums up the idea of hospitality.
The program designed for children 3-11 and can be expanded to include children in 6th-8th grades. A Preschool Planning Guide is also available. You can use "Welcome!" as either a traditional 5 day VBS or as a once a week Bible Club program.
The lessons remind me a lot of the ones I write. They are clear presentations of Bible stories that are wonderful to hear and easy to follow. They have plenty of fun ideas for games, crafts, and activities. And they can be adapted to use with a wide age range of children, depending on the activities chosen.
Their music is chosen to be uplifting and thought provoking. It teaches about how we relate to God.
MennoMedia says that "The creation of VBS materials, from start to finish, is based on Bible stories," and "We want children to have fun while learning about God!"
