On a Personal Note...
Peter Walker is one of my favorite humans. When I get to Heaven (by God's grace) I want my house to be somewhere that I can at least see Peter's, far, far off in the distance somewhere. That way I can point it out to others and say, "See that guy's house, way over there? I know him."
I'm just kidding, of course.
His sister (my good friend, Bec) is always calling me and leaving messages on my phone that say things like, "Um, yes. This is Heaven. And we were just calling because we saw what you did at VBS last week and we wanted to let you know that, as a result, we have moved your house up here a little further away from the stables. You will no longer be able to see the stables, but you WILL still be able to smell them. Thank you, and good-bye." Things like that.
Of course, I met Peter and his lovely family through Bec. And I have to say, I don't know anyone on fire for the Lord quite like Peter. He goes off for the day doing what I call "hedgerow evangelism" where he stands outside of convenience stores and talks to folks about Jesus. He gives them Scripture verse cards and booklets and prays with many of them.
We pray for him regularly.
